My "Coming Home" workshop and the "Why"
Hello! Once again it's been a while since I've last posted and there is a lot going on. I've updated the site and I am slowly adding some new original art and prints to the shop.
I am also happy to announce that I will be running my first workshop! I've found a local studio space that saw my work and believes in what I have to offer. The opportunity to run this workshop is a dream come true. It will take place over the course of 4 weeks and planning each week has been a labor of Love.
I can imagine it now...the wind howling outside and the tea brewing, as I lead a group of women in meditation. Then we head to our spaces to explore the crevices of our heart while getting messy with paint, glitter and collage! And we do all this in a sacred circle of support for four glorious Saturdays in the fall!. Sigh...doesn't it sound lovely?
I should probably back up a little and warn you that I love creating circles of support where people can connect and heal with others on the same journey. It's what I do and a big part of my "Why". It was a major part of my work as a substance abuse counselor and a major reason why I fell in Love with the chemical dependency field. There is nothing more powerful to me than watching the group process unfold and witnessing the healing that takes place when we learn to take risks with our heart and allow others to see us. The art is a bonus ;o)
This is "Why" this class is important to me. I don't only want to teach you some cool techniques. I want to create a community of spunky, creative, and spirited women who understand the magic that happens when we come together! I want to share with you how I've used art as a balm for my soul because it's a tool available to all of us. We don't need to be artists to participate in this act of communion. All we need are willing hands and an open heart.
If you'd like to join me, we begin gathering weekly on Saturday, October 25th through Saturday, November 15th. Click here to register. I'd also like to make this class accessible to all so payment plans are available. Please don't hesitate to shoot me an email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements. I look forward to seeing you there!
