Keep Me Safe Domestic Violence Awareness Event

Yes, there will be a plethora of blog posts today as I have so much to share with you guys!  I am really excited to let you guys know that I have been asked to donate a painting for auction to a cause very dear to my heart..Domestic Violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and I am excited to team up with Angy Abreu  from Wordat4F and Keep Me Safe to raise funds for Safe Horizon. Since 1978, they have provided victims of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, rape and sexual assault, as well as homeless youth and families of homicide victims, with a wide range of comprehensive support.

This cause is personal to me. As a witness, victim, and survivor of domestic violence, I understand the importance of availability of services, information, and advocacy. I also understand the importance of hope and my wish is that in some way my art helps serve that purpose. If I can create art that can inspire, motivate or remind another woman of her divine femininity, of her strength and her grace, then I have served my hearts purpose.

On October 9th, the Keep Me Safe event will take place in Bronx, NY. The event will provide an informational session, an open forum for discussion, featured spoken word artists, DJ entertainment, raffle tickets, and much more. All proceeds from the event go to Safe Horizon. Hope to see you there!
